Titanium Rings Studio diamonds infomation
The 4C's Color, Cut, Clarity and Carat. Most of a diamonds brilliance and fire
is created by its cut and the symmetry of its facets. We choose to use Excellent
cut diamonds for this purpose alone. We have included more about cut and diamond value toward
the bottom of this page as well as our diamond pricing chart
Color: Diamonds are rated from D (whitest) to Z (Brown).
D-E-F
Colorless.
G-H-I-J
Nearly colorless.
K-L-M
Faintly tinted, usually yellow.
N-O-P-Q-R
Lightly tinted, usually yellow. Tint can be seen with the naked eye.
S-T-U-V-W-X-Y-Z
Tinted, usually yellow, may progress to brownish. Tint visible to the naked eye, even when mounted.
The closer you are to D the higher the cost.
An engagement Diamond is typically between between D and H in Color.
Cut: The cut of a diamond has the Largest affect on its Brilliance, "excellent cut" diamonds are preferred.
Clarity: Diamonds are generally rated as to how pure they are and how
many inclusions (fractures) they have.
F= Flawless or IF= Internally Flawless
VVS= Very, Very Slightly Included
VS = Very Slightly Included (Also VS1 and VS2 are used)
SI = Slightly Included
I = Included (Typically avoided)
Typically, the minimum acceptable as a wedding diamond between 1/2ct to 1ct (unless you can
afford more), would be VS1 or VS2.
Carat Weight: How big is the diamond?
Larger diamonds often cost much
more per carat due to their size and rarity. There are 100 points to a
carat. A 50 point diamond is half a carat. (There are five carats to a
gram.)
Below is our diamond price chart. These are the prices of the diamonds only;
add these prices to your ring's price. (You'll get $50-$100 off of the ring price shown for swapping out the
white sapphire shown.) Please call us if you're interested in doing this.

When purchasing a diamond of over 1/2 carat, we recommend a GIA certified diamond. Certified diamonds can be insured against
loss or damage. There is an additional charge of $150.00 for this certification.
At Titanium Rings Studios, we have access to a full range of high quality certified diamonds and stones at very
reasonable prices.
Here is the one thing to really remember about diamonds...
Ninety eight % of a diamonds fire and brilliance is created by the quality of its cut and proportions, not its clarity,
color, or size, its proportions, polish, and the symmetry of its facets are primary to its radience. None of the other factors,
color, clarity, or carat weight, have more of a dramatic effect on a diamonds beauty than the cut...
Subtle and minute structural differences of half a millimeter or less will determine whether a diamond
will be full of Brilliance or dull and lifeless.
CUT - Proportions Control The Brilliance FLAWLESS (FL): Describes a diamond in which a skilled observer,
under favorable lighting conditions, can not see any internal imperfections (inclusions) or surface scratches,
after thorough examination with a microscope at ten power magnification or with a 10x corrected loupe.
Internal graining is permitted, provided it does not draw any color or texture and is not observable through the crown
or top. Small extra facets on the pavilion (bottom) near the girdle (ridge between crown and pavilion)
are ok, provided they are not visible when viewed from above. So are small naturals, if they are confined
to the girdle and do not flatten the girdle outline.
INTERNALLY FLAWLESS (IF): Describes diamonds which have no internal characteristics observable under the same conditions
as previously described, but which have minor surface blemishes that do not penetrate the diamond. Internal graining is permitted,
provided it does not draw any color or texture. Surface grain lines are permitted provided they are not too thick or numerous as
to detract from the beauty of the diamond.
VERY, VERY SLIGHTLY INCLUDED (VVS-1 & VVS-2): Describes diamonds which have very, very small inclusions which are difficult
for a trained observer to detect under the aforementioned conditions. Colored or textured graining is permitted, provided it
is not observable through the crown. Note: Because the inclusions in such a diamond are so minute, we usually locate them
under 30 - 40x magnification and work our way down.
VERY SLIGHTLY INCLUDED (VS-1 & VS-2): Describes diamonds with very small inclusions that can be difficult to detect under the
aforementioned conditions. With the exception of very large diamonds and occasionally emerald cut diamonds, these inclusions
are rarely visible to the unaided eye.
SLIGHTLY INCLUDED (SI-1, SI-2 & SI-3): Describes diamonds with small inclusions which are usually obvious under the
aforementioned conditions. Minor or very small inclusions can sometimes be detected in diamonds graded as SI-2 or SI-3
with the unaided eye after being located under 10x magnification.
